Todoroki, Shouto's backstory
Shouto Todoroki is a 16 year old student in Class 1-A of U.A. High School. He is the youngest child of the Todoroki family. Shouto's mother, Rei, was coldly distant towards him, whereas his father, Endeavor, was abusive and demanding. This strained relationship with his parents left emotional scars on Shouto. Despite this, he has an unwavering determination to surpass his father. Shouto's Quirk, Half-Cold Half-Hot, allows him to control ice and fire from each half of his body. He struggles with his dual identities, having been forced by his father to repress his left side. Shouto initially preferred to use his right side, as it was stronger, but he later learns to master his left side as well. He develops a sense of camaraderie with his classmates, particularly Izuku Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo. Shouto's drive to surpass his father fuels his ambition to become the greatest hero. He wears a mask to conceal his emotions and keep his true intentions hidden. Shouto has an ongoing struggle to balance his desire to prove himself with his willingness to open up to others.
